Dr. Schlitt is a Colorado native who grew up playing soccer, riding horses, and skiing on the weekend with her family. She grew a love for
medicine at an early age, likely due to the influence of her parents, who also pursued medical careers.

She attended the University of Denver for her undergraduate studies, where she had her first experience with rural medicine. She joined the Global Medical Brigades and traveled to Honduras and Nicaragua to help provide medical care and education. She learned about sustainable medicine and about the vast needs of global medicine.

She was truly humbled by the experience and hopes to give back to this community in the future. Later she moved to Oregon to start medical
school at Western University of Health Sciences COMP-NW. She had the opportunity to be a part of the rural health track, and this provided her
many amazing learning experiences. During this time, she met her now husband and they continued their medical journey together in Tucson for residency.

Dr. Schlitt completed her training at the University of Arizona Pediatric Residency Program in 2023. As her husband starts his fellowship training, she
looks forward to her pediatric career.
