Matt grew up in Petaluma, California. After high school he spent 6 years in the US Army as a medic. He did his undergraduate at NAU where he majored in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. During the summers and for a few years afterward he worked as wildland firefighter. He worked as a Burn Tech at UC San Diego and as a MA in Boise, ID. He attended PA school at University of New England in Portland, ME. He worked in an Emergency Department in Fruita, CO, Durango, CO and Shipwreck, NM. He then worked in primary care in San Luis Obispo, CA. He moved to Tucson in summer of 2017. He worked in a local urgent care through 2021 and is coming from Banner University Emergency Department.

His area of medical interests is managing asthma, smoking cessation, and preventative care.

In his free time, he likes mountain biking, bike packing, camping, and generally being outside.
