Dr. Jonny Neilson spent his childhood in Utah and Alaska. In childhood he was involved in swimming, water polo, band (saxophone), and being the class clown. He attended Utah Valley University for undergraduate education, then moved to Birmingham, Alabama for medical school. He completed pediatric residency at University of Arizona – Tucson in Pediatrics. He decided to settle in Tucson with his family and has been working in the community as a pediatrician since 2023.

His goal as a physician is to make every child know how important they are and to help them leave feeling better than when they came, no matter the age. He loves working with kids and feels like pediatrics matches his silliness and fun energy. He enjoys all age groups and is always trying to get his patients to smile.

When he is not working, he loves to spend time with his wife and three children. He also loves roller coasters, snorkeling, or nerding out over Pokémon. Dr. Neilson is very excited to be joining Old Pueblo Pediatrics and plans on staying long term.
