Our IS Department is currently seeking a qualified candidate to join our collaborative team in delivering excellence in systems management and user support.  Our IS Department is comprised of a skilled team of application and systems support and management professionals.  This position is located in our Executive Central Business Office where employees enjoy a casual and professional work environment. There is potential for this position to become a hybrid on-site/remote position in the future.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Designs, codes/configures, tests, debugs, documents, and maintains programs/applications such as EpicCare Ambulatory, Care Everywhere, Surescripts HISP and ePrescribe, Imprivata, Dragon and other third-party applications as needed,
  • Identifies, analyzes and diagnoses complex system problems, identifies root cause, and then solves the problem or escalates issues to other appropriate IT staff when outside area of responsibility or expertise,
  • Collaborates with system users to and other IT professionals evaluate, plan, design, develop, test, implement and maintain systems,
  • Addresses highly technical issues that occur during installation and maintenance activities.
  • Documents workflows, application, and technical specifications as appropriate. Works with others to create support and training documents,
  • Works with Regulatory Leadership to ensure regulatory build is complete based on identified specifications,
  • Partners with vendors to troubleshoot and resolve system problems, to improve product performance and usability,
  • Reviews documentation for complex upgrades and monthly system updates. Evaluates possible changes and impacts with other analysts and end users,
  • Provides daily leadership and guidance to Clinical Application team as well as other IS team members as necessary,
  • Provides guidance and support to end-users to enhance the use of the Epic System,
  • Provides input into developing standards and requirements for new products/services and assists in assuring that new purchases fall within this structure,
  • Responsible for maintaining the integrity of multiple systems, solves complex problems, and works independently; receives minimal guidance,
  • Works with internal and external stakeholders for analysis and design of quality clinical build while considering regulatory needs, vendor best practice recommendations, strategic organizational alignment, value to the customer, return on investment, maintenance considerations, and alternate solutions,
  • Strong conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills; solid communication skills, both oral and written; ability to work in department and interdepartmentally to articulate ideas, negotiate resolution of issues, and achieve objectives,
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities; strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other productivity tools and assigned applications and technologies; experience with IT Service Management tools preferred.

Requirement

This position includes training provided by Epic educators and will require the selected candidate pass prescribed tests to become Epic certified, allowing access to and support of Epic application(s).

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business, Healthcare, or related field or equivalent experience,
  • Five (5) years working experience and knowledge in one or more of the following: Clinical workflows, processes and terminology, IT application build, EHR support and maintenance,
  • Two (2) years Leadership experience: the ability to lead a team, facilitate meetings, provide user training, prioritize, resolve conflicts, maintain issues lists, and lead a project,
  • Strong understanding of healthcare business process and technology
  • Healthcare IT experience in acute care or ambulatory care settings
  • Working knowledge of IT solutions and interfacing
  • Project management experience,
  • Vendor management experience,
  • Familiarity with HL7 Interface messaging,
  • Strong communication and follow-up skills; solid understanding of escalation processes,
  • The ability to probe for information about the underlying needs of the organization and user community, to optimize build of system and ultimately end user support,
  • Highly self-motivated and directed,
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment,
  • Very strong customer service orientation,
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • EpicCare Ambulatory and/ or Care Everywhere certification,
  • Five (5) years working experience and knowledge of clinical application design, build, configuration, set-up, testing and troubleshooting,
  • Surescripts HISP and ePrescribing experience,

Imprivata Administration experience or certification.
