Responsible for the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of patient accounting. Strives to maximize net professional revenues while providing outstanding customer service to both patients and staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Work Experience: At least six months of experience in billing, collections and/or reimbursement.

Preferred Experience/Qualifications:

Other Qualifications: Teamwork skills and ability to follow through on assigned tasks.

Responsibilities Administrative:

Demonstrates thorough knowledge of ACP policy and procedure in coordinating business office activities. Maintains up-to-date resource manuals and related materials. Ensures integrity, confidentiality and security of patient records. Assists Site Coordinators in reimbursement issues.


Demonstrates expertise of medical office software relating to account inquiry and reimbursement issues as well as report functions. Demonstrates willingness to learn coding CPT and ICD-9 related to reimbursement. Demonstrates competency in use of computer equipment, printers, and telephone system and fax machine. Understands basic personal computer applications.

Customer Service:

Demonstrates positive interpersonal relations in dealing with fellow employees, supervisors, physicians and management. Promotes excellence in patient relations and customer service, emphasizing compassion, responsiveness, respect and courtesy. Asks questions to determine patient needs rather than assuming, whether in person or over the phone. Looks for opportunities to exceed patient’s expectations by acting promptly, involving patient where solutions are needed. Confirms patient’s satisfaction with service or course of action, and commits to follow-through. Providing the highest-level customer service to patients and other ACP staff by following through on phone calls, site questions or concerns and account inquiry concerns. Resolves patient complaints and requests regarding insurance billing and initiates accurate account adjustments. Independently resolves difficult patient or co-worker interactions when possible. Recognizes when supervisor intervention is required or appropriate.


Works harmoniously with others, including management, demonstrating a commitment to achieving common goals. Responds positively to work-related requests from others. Willingly shares knowledge and serves as a resource to co-workers. Communicates in a manner that promotes trust and mutual respect.
