Growing up as a classically trained pianist with a prominent ENT physician as a father, it was always my parents’ expectation that I would grow up to become a surgeon. “You have the perfect hands for a surgeon” I was always told. When I turned down a surgery residency for a residency in family medicine, my parents were shocked. It was my passion for integrating complementary and alternative medicine and my enthusiasm for wanting to build lasting and meaningful relationships with my patients that finally convinced my family that family medicine was where my heart was and where I was meant to succeed.

My conviction that I made the right career choice has only strengthened over the years since completing my family medicine residency at the University of Wisconsin in 2002. There is no greater joy than knowing the skills I have learned over the years as a physician and educator have helped my patients live fuller, healthier lives. I have no doubt that my transition to a smaller practice will better allow me to provide the necessary care to each and every patient that walks through my door.

My integrative approach to practicing medicine addresses a full range of physical, emotional, mental, social, and environmental influences which affect one’s health. I provide my patients with both conventional and alternative treatment options that address each individual patient’s needs, and I work to develop strong relationships with each patient so that I can tailor treatments to their personal health philosophies. I also offer conveniences, like same- or next-day appointments that start on time, which may be found in concierge medicine practices. When appropriate for patient care, I will always try to incorporate my interests in alternative and complementary medicine, nutrition, and my knowledge regarding dementia and cardiovascular disease prevention into their individual wellness plans.
