Carolyn Cessna-Vargas, NP
Carolyn earned her nursing degree from Emporia State University in Kansas in 2010. Shortly after graduating, she joined the Air Force where she discovered her passion for pediatric medicine. Her nursing experience includes both clinic-based and inpatient pediatric care. She has cared almost exclusively for children with chronic diseases and, while inpatient, was primarily serving children with cancer and chronic blood diseases. She earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice with focus in Pediatrics from Arizona State University in 2021.
Carolyn grew up in a military family with both of her parents also serving in the Air Force. While active duty, she met her husband and it is because of the Air Force that she and her husband have called Tucson home for the last 5 years. She and her family love it here and she looks forward to serving the Tucson community for many years to come!
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Matthew, her children, Isabella and Theodore and her 2 cats. She enjoys hiking, dance parties with the littles, puzzling, reading, and wearing fun hats.
